DESCRIPTION:  (from Goodreads)

Although the widowed Lady Rebecca has sworn off marriage, men are another matter. London's cold winter nights have her dreaming of warmer pursuits-like finding a lover to satisfy her hungry heart. Someone handsome, discreet, and most importantly as uninterested in marriage as she is. Someone like Jack Fulton.

A known adventurer and playboy, Jack seems like the perfect choice. There's just one problem: Jack isn't interested in an affair. He needs the beautiful, mysterious Lady Rebecca to be his wife. And he doesn't have much time to persuade her. A secret from Jack's past is about to surface, and by Christmas Day he'll be either married to Rebecca or dead.

A BIT ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jennifer Haymore grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii, where she surfed, learned how to fly airplanes, raced bicycles, and developed a love for sailing. She was an avid reader and completely destroyed her eyesight by sneaking a flashlight under her covers and reading far into the nights — making her mother wonder why on earth she couldn’t get up for school in the mornings…

Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in Education from UCLA. Before she became a full-time writer she held various jobs from bookselling to teaching inner-city children to playing bit roles in soap operas.

You can find Jennifer in Southern California trying to talk her husband into yet another trip to England, helping her three children with homework while brainstorming a new five-minute dinner menu, or crouched in a corner of the local bookstore writing her next novel.

MY THOUGHTS

I really loved this book.  I have only read one of Jennifer's other books in this series but you can read this series as stand alones. I enjoyed the characters in this story.  The characters in this book are great.  Jennifer has given wonderful details and explanations for everything and you really get to know them well.  I had a real hard time with Jack at first because I kept wondering what he was really up to and did he really love Rebecca?  I grew to like Jack more and more and then start to even understand him as the story unfolds.   This book had emotions stirring because you have the heart broken widow and then Jack who is going to take advantage of her and take her for her fortune.  You grow attached to Rebecca early on and learn of all the things that have happened and I was just hooked from the start.  This story unfolds into a wonderful love story that will pleasently surprise you in the end.  I feel that Jennifer is a great writer and has added a very good book to her series and what a wonderful Christmas gift this would make.  I will be waiting for the next series.  I hope you will pick this book up and read it you will enjoy it.
